Web design and AI for Oceanside businesses.
Carlsbad Web & AI builds custom websites and Ada AI assistants for businesses in Oceanside, California — downtown, South O, the harbor, and the corridors along Mission and El Camino Real. We work one city down the coast in Carlsbad. Copywriting from scratch is not included. Builds start at $649 plus $39 monthly.

01 — Who this is for
Built for these people.
- Downtown restaurants, bars, and coffee shops that opened into the new Oceanside and look it in person but not online
- Trades and home services covering Oceanside, Camp Pendleton housing, and the inland tracts
- Surf, skate, and independent retail on Coast Highway and in South O
- Clinics, dentists, and practices around Tri-City competing with a chain that outranks them
02 — What it sounds like
If you have said one of these, you are in the right place.
“We spent real money on the buildout and the website looks nothing like the room.”
“Tourists find us on Instagram, then land on a site with last summer's hours.”
“We are invisible the moment somebody searches from three blocks away.”
“Half our customers are on a phone outside and the site takes forever to load.”
03 — What you get
The same build, wherever you are.
01
A custom design, drawn for the business
No template, no page builder, no theme with your logo dropped into it. Layouts are drawn for what you sell and who walks in.
02
A hand-built Next.js site on Vercel
Server-rendered, so a phone on a bad connection in a parking lot gets the page, not a loading spinner.
03
Up to five core pages
Home, the thing you actually sell, proof, about, contact. Structured for how people read before they call.
04
A CMS you can edit yourself
Change hours, prices, and a phone number without emailing us. Holiday hours are not a support ticket.
05
Local structured data
LocalBusiness schema with your real address, hours, and service area, so search engines and assistants get it from the source.
06
Mobile, keyboard, and screen-reader testing
Before launch, on real devices. Every page has to work with a keyboard alone.
07
Ada, if you want her
The AI assistant that answers questions on your site at 11pm and hands you the transcript. Optional, $499 to build, then $49 a month, never bolted on by surprise.
04 — Getting found in Oceanside
What being findable here actually takes.
01
Win the map pack before the website
Oceanside searches are overwhelmingly phone searches from nearby, and the map pack sits above every organic result. Categories, hours, service area, and photos on your Google Business Profile decide more calls here than any page we could build. It is free and most of your competitors have half-finished it.
02
Name the district, not just the city
People search South O, downtown, and the harbor as distinct places, because they are. A page that says where you actually are — and gives directions and parking — beats one that says Oceanside nine times.
03
Hours and seasonality as data, not a JPEG
A beach town runs different hours in July and January. Hours in an image cannot be read by Google, quoted by an assistant, or updated by you at 6am. They go in the CMS and in schema.
04
Answers a phone can read back
Parking, dog policy, whether you take walk-ins, what a job costs. Written as direct answers in plain text with schema underneath, because that is what gets quoted when somebody asks their phone instead of searching.
05 — Proof
Nothing in Oceanside yet.
We have not built a site in Oceanside yet, so there is nothing here to show. Filling the space with unrelated work would tell you nothing about what we would do for you.
What we can show you is everything else the studio has shipped — live sites you can open, inspect, and judge on their own terms.
06 — How it runs
Four steps, in this order.
Step 01
Audit and brief
We look at your site, your map listing, and the competitors outranking you, and send the findings in writing before anyone designs anything. Free, and yours whether or not you hire us.
Step 02
Design
Layouts for the pages that matter, in your colours and your type. Two rounds of revisions, then it locks and we build.
Step 03
Build
Hand-coded in Next.js. Content goes into a CMS you can edit, and we test on real phones and with a keyboard before you see it.
Step 04
Launch and hand over
We point the domain, watch it for a week, and hand you the keys. You own the code and the accounts. Leaving is a repo transfer, not a negotiation.
07 — Scope and price
Same prices. No zip-code markup.
A five-page custom site is from $649 to build and $39 a month to host, maintain, and keep updated. Adding Ada, the AI assistant, makes it from $949 to build, then $79 a month. Ada on an existing site is $499 to build, then $49 a month. Those are the same numbers every other client pays, and they are published on the pricing page.
Anything outside that gets quoted in writing before we start, not discovered halfway through. Every plan and every number is published.
08 — Questions
Before you ask.
- Do you actually work with Oceanside businesses, or is this a landing page?
- The studio is in Carlsbad, one city south, and Oceanside is inside the service area we have always worked. What we will not do is pretend to have an Oceanside address or an Oceanside client we do not have — the proof section on this page is empty for exactly that reason, and everything we have built is linked from the work page for you to open.
- Can you help with the Google Business Profile as well as the site?
- Yes, and in Oceanside we would start there. Profile categories, service area, hours, and photos are what decide the map pack, and the map pack is where most local calls come from. It ships with a build or a redesign; ongoing listing maintenance is scoped separately so you know what you are buying.
- How long does a build take?
- Two to four weeks from kickoff for a five-page site, once your content is in hand. Adding Ada makes it three to five. The slow part is almost never the code — it is waiting on photos and copy, so we tell you exactly what we need on day one.
- Who owns the site when it is done?
- You do. The code, the domain, the analytics, and the hosting account are all in your name, and the repository transfers to you on request. The monthly fee buys hosting and maintenance, not custody of your website.
09 — Start with the audit
Find out what is actually broken.
Send one Oceanside URL and we will tell you the five things costing you the most, in writing, whether or not you hire us. We reply within two business days.
